We've got a new theme up at Paper Issues, A Flair for the Eclectic, featuring the new collection, Everyday Eclectic from Echo Park!
I ended up buying the collection kit and some extra few papers, just to have doubles. I've only gotten a chance to whip up two layouts with this collection so far, but I had such a fun time making them.
Both of these pages are about my new opportunity to be a stay at home mom. Since Zoe was born, I was hoping this would one day be my job, and now that it is, we are adjusting. Along with the chance to be with Zoe, since my layoff, I had have a number of creative opportunities offered to me and I'm so excited about being a part of some many great creative forces.
As you all know, Paper Issues themes usually come with a giveaway, and this one is no exception. Paper Play Studio is offering up a $25 giftcard. Make sure to stop by the Paper Issues Blog to enter.

The new theme for Paper Issues is up, and for this theme, I got to work with this awesome kit from Cassie - Bees Love Cantaloupe - made up of My Mind's Eye papers, white and kraft cardstock, snug hug binding, twine and diecuts.
I loved this kit so much. I made 3 layouts all from this kit.
This first layout I relied heavily on my Silhouette machine. I used the dresden pattern shape found here. I cut out the pattern pieces using several different patterned papers and then mix them up and put them back together. I added some stitching around the edges with the twine to make them pop!
This layout is one of my new favorites, probably because this is one of my favorite pictures from our wedding. On this page I did some fussy cutting. I cut out the hexagons from this paper for a border. I also cut out the cluster on this paper, added some stitching and some diecuts from the the kit to recreate a 3D embellishment. I embossed some naked chipboard letters with white Zing embossing ink from American Crafts. (amazing stuff)

For my final layout, I used a sketch from Studio Calico on NSD. I misted the white cardstock from the kit with Studio Calico Mr. Huey colors, Cameo and Dewey. Both colors go great with this kit! I added a piece of 6x6 grey stripe paper to back my picture.
Now as usual with Paper Issues Blog Hops, Cassie is offering the blue version of the kit - Boys are Sweet, Too - up for grabs, Just make sure you leave a comment on the Paper Issues Blog for a chance to win!

Super excited for today's share! At Paper Issues, we are having a blog hop to kick off the new theme, which is SMASH!
I made my first SMASH book last summer, documenting all our fun adventures and memories and I really enjoyed the sarcastic pages and great designs included in the book. But I'm going to admit I was a little afraid of it. Afraid of doodling, misting, using too much product in it....
But when I decided to participate in the April Photo-a-Day Challenge, I thought the SMASH mini book would be a perfect size to put the project all together in.

SMASHbook for Summer 2011 |
But when I decided to participate in the April Photo-a-Day Challenge, I thought the SMASH mini book would be a perfect size to put the project all together in.
The SMASHbook mini is by far my favorite size, it's about 5x7,
so it's great for instragram photos and even 4x6.
One of the best part of SMASH books, is the stash buster factor. Let me explain. Because there really are no rules in the SMASH book, you can use this book, to use up random packages of thickers, or those 2 or 3 labels you have left on a sheet, even cardstock shapes that you really have no other use for...
Here are a few of my pages, although this book is incomplete as the monthly challenge isn't over :)
Now, here comes the fun part. Paper Issues is giving away this awesome prize pack!

Lisa and I have worked together for just over 3 years now. She and her husband are amazing artists.
We got to talking one day about how I wanted a small pendant with a single letter stamped,
but was unable to find one as small as I wanted.
Well thanks to Lisa, her husband and their awesome talent...
She showed up last week with exactly what I wanted!
Lisa now has them available in her Etsy shop, they've endearingly called, "AlphaBitties."
They are sterling silver and completely customizable, with up to 3 letters and/or numbers.
For my 300th post giveaway, you could win you're very own AlphaBitty!
To be entered to win, you must leave your name, e-mail and how you found my blog :)

So like I said before, I've gotten then items for a complete bedroom re-do, but I figured I'd just do the whole house. First to go is our ugly "martini" pillows that are on our couch. They came with our couch, but it's time for them to go. Here's the new one.
It took under an hour and I was thinking about making a tutorial for it. Let me know if you're interested. I made it out of jersey/t-shirt fabric so it's comfy. Finished size is 14" x 14".
and the winner of the giveaway goes too....Jamie Stauffer.
( I used the random.org generator)
Jamie, I'll deliver the goods tomorrow :) Thanks everyone for playing. I'll try to do another giveaway soon.
Zoe has finally learned to say "Thank You!" She's been saying please for forever but wouldn't say thank you.
Ryan made his famous tacos tonight....mmmm...but he tried something new. Instead of lettuce, he made coleslaw with carrots, radishes and purple cabbage, tossed in balsamic vinegar...yum.. It was so good. Just enough crunch.
Well off to bed, early workout :)
