Although it's getting colder here, and windy, we decided to take Zoe and Campbell to the park. The first park we went to was overflowing with people, so we drove a little farther and came to this park, nice and quiet. I put Zoe in the swing and she was a little unsure at first, but starting giggling after a minute. Campbell got to run free, which she loves. Well Ms. Zoe has been under the weather this week. she was stuffy, feverish, wasn't eating/sleeping on her normal schedule/pattern. Turns out she just had a cold. She is doing better now. She is now perfecting the art of rolling over. Ryan said yesterday afternoon, he couldn't get her to stop. Then this morning I laid her on the floor and she wouldn't stop. So we have a rolly polly on our hands. And we love EVERY BIT of it! I also started a new blog. brown-eyedmama.blogpost.com. I felt bad entering my thoughts, interests and etc. into a blog named "Baby Humbert". So I will keep this blog for all our family's updates and pictures, but for my personal musings, interests and etc, you can visit this blog. I'm also still updating the weight loss blog. When she gets like this, she kicks and kicks and kicks.Yesterday Zoe could not stop staring at the General Authorities during General Conference. She would get all excited and squeal and squeal. She has recently found her voice and she likes to test the volume. Made concentrating a little difficult. We were planning to go to Tahoe last weekend, but it started to storm here, so we decided against it. But hopefully, we can get up there before it really starts to snow. Ok, I am playing around with trying to get videos of baby Z. She was babbling all night and I was trying to catch it on video. I'm going to try to get her giggling tomorrow morning. She is always happier in the morning. Have a good night.

Well this has been a big week for Miss Z. Sunday, she rolled over for the first time. We actually missed it, we walked away for a few minutes, and came back, and boom, she had rolled over. She has done it in front of us too, so we know it's for real. This week she has started to hold her own bottle. She is still struggling to hold it the whole time, while she eats, but she is getting better. Also, she's started taking more interest in Campbell. Before she really didn't pay attention, but now, she watches Campbell move around and play. It's really fun to watch. She's getting close to being able to sit up on her own. She can do it for a few seconds, and then topples over. She is going to the Dr. next week, for more shots and stats, so of course I'll update then too. Have a good weekend everyone! XOXO Holly & Co.

I'm so excited that the weather is finally changing. Growing up in Denver, I'm used to cold winters. I love the clouds, the snow and the rain. Here in California, the winters are more mild, we still get cold, clouds and rain, but no snow, unless we go up to Tahoe. The weather has been just perfect the past few days. Yesterday, Zoe attended her first birthday party, for Ethan Stauffer. She slept through most of it, but Ryan and I had so much fun. Ethan & his parents live next door and we love them! We took some pictures of Zoe before we left for the party. (I doctored them in Photoshop a bit) I'm so excited for the holidays, it's my favorite time of year. The songs, the smells, the decorations! I'm so glad that we have our stinky bink to celebrate with us this year. I've always loved holidays but I have found a new love for my excitement for Zoe to have these experiences. Thanks to my wonderful husband who watches our baby, I've been getting up to date on my scrapbooking. I've been updating both Zoe's and my scrapbooks, same pictures, but different pages. I'm sorry it's been a few weeks since I have updated, we're getting into a new routine. I went back to work last week. it was hard, but I didn't cry. Although I loved being a stay at home mommy, being back at work helps us out financially, and gives me a chance to interact with other adults. A big thanks to Zoe's caretakers, Jamie, Stephanie, and Grandma Julie, knowing that she is with one of you, gives me peace of mind. Zoe is growing and changing all the time. She is starting to almost roll over. She leans up to one side, but then decides not to go through with it and falls over. She is enjoying learning about her new voice. She sqwalks, squeaks, and coos, especially when she looks in the mirror. We also discovered that when we tell her " Shh" like to be quiet, she thinks it's the funniest thing, and laughs. And the more we do it, the louder she laughs, it's quiet entertaining. I started making her halloween costume last week, she's going to be a ballerina. I made a tutu! It wasn't hard, it only took 30 minutes and cost be about $3.00. It's pink and fluffy, oh I can't wait for her to wear it! Ryan is working so hard with both work and school. This semester he is taking a computer night class, that he just loves. It's right up his alley. He's also getting so close to finishing the super nintendo handheld. Campbell, well, is just Campbell. She loves that Ryan finished the patio off, so she could roam out there and spend time with Ryan while he works on his projects. She loves baby Z and tries to get in her face to kiss her all the time. A feel good: Every few months at work, the Bloodmobile comes. I've never donated before, but while I was pregnant, I discovered my blood type is O-. After learning that I have universal blood, I made myself a promise that I would donate as often as I could. Today, I started to fulfill that promise. It was not as bad as I thought. This weekend: Zoe is going to her first birthday party, for Ethan. I'm going to try and take some pictures! The weather here as started to cool down, I can't wait for WINTER! My favorite time of the year. Although we don't get snow here, it can get quite cold! Meet LeRoy. He is a blue-ish seahorse, that has a magical singing/glowing belly. We met LeRoy today at Target during a close call screaming session. LeRoy did such a great job of keeping Zoe quiet and happy, we decided to take him home with us. All afternoon has been spent with Zoe smiling and giggling at this sea horse. He's a keeper. LeRoy is too heavy for Zoe to lift, because of the magical belly, but she holds onto his fins. Now about Miley Cyrus (aka Hannah Montana). Well Zoe has entering the teething phase and often has a meltdown right before Daddy gets home. The other day I was frantically trying to get her to calm down, and decided to try music. I went to the itunes music videos, and clicked on Miley Cyrus "7 Things". That 30 second preview quieted Zoe down, but as soon as it was over the crying started again, so I broke down and bought the music video. I think we watched it 30 + times before she fell asleep in my arms. I have no idea why she likes it, but it works. The picture below is at night, after the crying fits have subsided. I'm heading back to work next week, and I'm a quite nervous. Not for Zoe, because she will be in great hands, but for me. I'm hoping I can get through the emotions and not have a meltdown at work. She has started laughing when we tickle her. She's just a joy to be around. I can't believe she's 3 months already. when your Dog runs away and you spend 20 minutes chasing it, while the neighbor watches your baby, because you were changing the laundry and the dog ran outside when you opened the door. You make cookies, you bake half and then take a spoon to the other half, all while drinking a diet coke. Lucky for me, most of my nights are not like this. In baby news: Zoe is teething. Yes, it's hard to believe she's only 3 months, but there are definitely toothies coming in.

We blessed Zoe this weekend in Provo, UT. I just wanted to thank all those who traveled to come see and support her. It was a long 12 hour drive there and an even longer 12 hour drive home, but it was worth it to be surrounded by family and friends for this special day. (I will post pictures as soon as I get them, we didn't use my camera.) We also got to meet cousin Noah. He's so small. It's hard to believe Zoe was smaller than him when she was born. Compared to Noah, Z is a monster. Lately, I've been working on Zoe's scrapbook. I have my large (12x12) scrapbook for me, and then I bought a small one for her (8x8) so that she will have her own scrapbooks to take with her when she moves out. I've also been working on my scrapbook. Before Zoe was born, I hadn't even gotten to our wedding photos. I've been working hard to keep up. I've been using a lot of the stash I have built up over the years, so much so, that I think I am going to need to go shopping again soon :) Last week, we dug out the webcam and hooked it up so that Nona & Papa (my parents) could see Zoe in action. I am continuing to try and catch Zoe's smiles in action. Today I caught one, but it's without the flash, because the flash made her loose the smile.

Well Baby Z went to the Dr. today her here are her stats: Weight: 10 lbs. 10.5 oz (3 pound gain) Height: 22.5 inches (2 inch gain) She's in the 50th percentile for both so she is growing right on track. She had to get 3 shots and an oral vaccine, so she is a little fussy today. Zoe also likes Monsters, INC. I didn't know if she would get scared watching it, but she actually enjoys it and sometimes talks back to the movie. Her new trick is blowing bubbles. I'm trying to get a picture of this, but as most of her tricks, they come and go very quickly. XOXO, Holly & Co.

So I have been trying to get Zoe to smile for the camera for a week now, and I finally caught one! During this photoshoot, she also found her hand and enjoyed it immensely. I added the rest of the attempts to get the smile so you could see her with her hand. Zoe has to go to the Dr. next week for 2 month shots. That I'm guessing is going to be a long day. First, I just wanted to say Congratulations to my sister, Jenni and her husband, they had their little boy this morning. He is 7lbs. 7oz. and 18 inches long. Last I heard Mom and baby are both doing great! his name is Noah Zachary Sisson. You might want to check their blog for pictures and updates. Now to the overhaul... If you have ever been to our apartment, you will notice, it looks a lot like a college apartment. Lots of different, not necessarily matching furniture and decoration. Well this week that is all about to change. Currently Ryan is sanding & painting our T.V. stand, so that when our new TV comes next week, it will have a new home. Then we bought a new couch! You can view it here. It's a charcoal gray color. I'm also shopping for a rug and coffee table, but haven't picked those just yet. I'm very excited to finally have a coordinating family room, rather than a collegesque apartment. I can't wait to post pictures! Our little Zoe has been growing like crazy, I can't believe she's already 6 weeks. Here is a recent picture of our little monster. (I say that because she looks like the kid from "Where the Wild Things Are" it's the spiky hair)I've also been using Photoshop a lot recently. I've been learning more than just fixing red eyes. Ryan and I have joked about this term because it is meant to imply sleeping well. However, if you have ever had a baby, you will probably agree, they are not quiet or good sleepers. They snort, coo, sneeze and wake up about every 3 hours. Some nights, we are lucky and Zoe will sleep about 6 hours. But even on those nights, we get up to check on her and make sure she is okay. Last night, she blew us both away and slept for 8 hours straight! Tonight will be the real test, to see if this is going to be a pattern, but either way last night was like a small light at the end of the tunnel, letting us getting up twice a night, won't last forever. In other news, my unborn nephew, Noah is being stubborn. Please send labor vibes to Jenni. Ryan started summer school this week. He's taking a philosophy class. It's a lot of reading, so he's been quite occupied with that this week. My good friend Jamie and I went out for a girls night last night and found a great Chinese food restaurant in Rocklin. So yummy, it's a been a long time since I had Chinese food that wasn't Panda Express. Also during our evening, we discovered a great new home store, West Elm. It's like Ikea, but more upscale. This is one of my favorite things that I found there. Ryan and I renewed our gym memberships today. They gave me 2 free personal training sessions for free too! Hopefully by Christmas I'll be back into my "skinny" jeans. I'm hoping to get some good pictures of Zoe this next week. I want to take some outside, but it's been too smoky. Hello all. Sorry it has been so long since I've posted, but you're in for a long one here. Zoe and I left early Sunday morning for Utah. She was so good on the flight there, she slept all but about 30 seconds. Here she is ready to fly. For those of you that don't know, the 4th of July in my family is bigger than Christmas. We always get together in Provo at my Grandparents house to enjoy the freedom festival that Provo puts on. This year we got to introduce Zoe to my extended family and this wonderful tradition. I spent Sunday- Wednesday spending time with my family, while Ryan stayed home in California and worked, and then he joined me Wednesday night. Thank goodness for Parents. Zoe had a couple of rough nights and my parents were so wonderful and got up in the middle of the night with her. I bet they thought their nights of changing diapers and midnight feedings were over, but I'm grateful they were wrong, and helped me out. It was interesting, even though I was with my parents and siblings, being without Ryan made me feel like a single parent, a feeling I'm glad was only temporary. While I was there, Zoe got to meet her Best Friend (as decided by her mother). My best friend from High School, Heather, had her baby girl in March. Zoe and Brooke got to meet for the first time this trip.Zoe got to meet her Papa, Aunt Jenni, Uncle Aaron, Aunt Natalie and Uncle Ben. (She got to see Nona, but she already met Nona when she was born) Zoe also got to meet her cousin Noah, well sort of. Noah is due in just a few weeks. Every time Jenni would hold Zoe on her belly, Noah would kick, I'm hoping that means that he's excited to meet her. It was delicious. (Italy is a very big deal in my family too) Here's there site I would definitely recommend it if you are in the downtown Salt Lake Area. Zoe smiled for the first time July 1st. That was a great moment, I just wish she would do it more often. She has also started to really hold her head up. Here's me and Zoe on the 4th. and here's our beautiful little girl, in her firecracker of a bow. We're home now, and Zoe is having a hard time adjusting to not being held all the time, so we've had a few rough nights. Zoe is now a month old. I can't believe it. She has grown so much. It's hard to imagine life without her now. We love her so much. I just wanted to say thanks to all our family and friends for the support, the dinners, the gifts and sweet words.
