First, I just wanted to say Congratulations to my sister, Jenni and her husband, they had their little boy this morning. He is 7lbs. 7oz. and 18 inches long. Last I heard Mom and baby are both doing great! his name is Noah Zachary Sisson. You might want to check their blog for pictures and updates. Now to the overhaul... If you have ever been to our apartment, you will notice, it looks a lot like a college apartment. Lots of different, not necessarily matching furniture and decoration. Well this week that is all about to change. Currently Ryan is sanding & painting our T.V. stand, so that when our new TV comes next week, it will have a new home. Then we bought a new couch! You can view it here. It's a charcoal gray color. I'm also shopping for a rug and coffee table, but haven't picked those just yet. I'm very excited to finally have a coordinating family room, rather than a collegesque apartment. I can't wait to post pictures! Our little Zoe has been growing like crazy, I can't believe she's already 6 weeks. Here is a recent picture of our little monster. (I say that because she looks like the kid from "Where the Wild Things Are" it's the spiky hair)I've also been using Photoshop a lot recently. I've been learning more than just fixing red eyes. Ryan and I have joked about this term because it is meant to imply sleeping well. However, if you have ever had a baby, you will probably agree, they are not quiet or good sleepers. They snort, coo, sneeze and wake up about every 3 hours. Some nights, we are lucky and Zoe will sleep about 6 hours. But even on those nights, we get up to check on her and make sure she is okay. Last night, she blew us both away and slept for 8 hours straight! Tonight will be the real test, to see if this is going to be a pattern, but either way last night was like a small light at the end of the tunnel, letting us getting up twice a night, won't last forever. In other news, my unborn nephew, Noah is being stubborn. Please send labor vibes to Jenni. Ryan started summer school this week. He's taking a philosophy class. It's a lot of reading, so he's been quite occupied with that this week. My good friend Jamie and I went out for a girls night last night and found a great Chinese food restaurant in Rocklin. So yummy, it's a been a long time since I had Chinese food that wasn't Panda Express. Also during our evening, we discovered a great new home store, West Elm. It's like Ikea, but more upscale. This is one of my favorite things that I found there. Ryan and I renewed our gym memberships today. They gave me 2 free personal training sessions for free too! Hopefully by Christmas I'll be back into my "skinny" jeans. I'm hoping to get some good pictures of Zoe this next week. I want to take some outside, but it's been too smoky. Hello all. Sorry it has been so long since I've posted, but you're in for a long one here. Zoe and I left early Sunday morning for Utah. She was so good on the flight there, she slept all but about 30 seconds. Here she is ready to fly. For those of you that don't know, the 4th of July in my family is bigger than Christmas. We always get together in Provo at my Grandparents house to enjoy the freedom festival that Provo puts on. This year we got to introduce Zoe to my extended family and this wonderful tradition. I spent Sunday- Wednesday spending time with my family, while Ryan stayed home in California and worked, and then he joined me Wednesday night. Thank goodness for Parents. Zoe had a couple of rough nights and my parents were so wonderful and got up in the middle of the night with her. I bet they thought their nights of changing diapers and midnight feedings were over, but I'm grateful they were wrong, and helped me out. It was interesting, even though I was with my parents and siblings, being without Ryan made me feel like a single parent, a feeling I'm glad was only temporary. While I was there, Zoe got to meet her Best Friend (as decided by her mother). My best friend from High School, Heather, had her baby girl in March. Zoe and Brooke got to meet for the first time this trip.Zoe got to meet her Papa, Aunt Jenni, Uncle Aaron, Aunt Natalie and Uncle Ben. (She got to see Nona, but she already met Nona when she was born) Zoe also got to meet her cousin Noah, well sort of. Noah is due in just a few weeks. Every time Jenni would hold Zoe on her belly, Noah would kick, I'm hoping that means that he's excited to meet her. Zoe with Jenni Natalie with ZoeZoe with Great Grandpa Morgan Zoe with Great Grandma Morgan While we were in Utah, my Uncle Chris introduced us to an authentic Italian Pizzeria in Salt Lake City, called Settebello. It was delicious. (Italy is a very big deal in my family too) Here's there site I would definitely recommend it if you are in the downtown Salt Lake Area. Zoe smiled for the first time July 1st. That was a great moment, I just wish she would do it more often. She has also started to really hold her head up. Here's me and Zoe on the 4th. and here's our beautiful little girl, in her firecracker of a bow. We're home now, and Zoe is having a hard time adjusting to not being held all the time, so we've had a few rough nights. Zoe is now a month old. I can't believe it. She has grown so much. It's hard to imagine life without her now. We love her so much. I just wanted to say thanks to all our family and friends for the support, the dinners, the gifts and sweet words. Zoe's umbilical cord still hasn't fallen off yet, but Ryan and I gave her a sponge bath tonight. She was so wide awake, I decided to take some pictures so everyone can see what she looks like awake.

Our little Zoe went to the Dr. today for her check up. Her length was the same 20.5 inches, which puts her in the 50th percentile. She is up to 7 lbs, 7.5 oz which puts her in the 25th percentile for weight. The Dr. said she looks and sounds great. They are happy about her gaining weight, especially because she was 2 weeks early, today is her actual due date. I'm so thankful our little girl answered my prayers and came early.

Zoe, although sleeps great during the day, can give us some trouble in the late nights. But it's hit and miss. Sometimes she sleeps 5 or 6 hours stretches, other nights she's up every 2 or 3 hours. We're still all getting used to this new baby thing. She is so fun, and we love her to death. Campbell is still getting used to having competition for attention, but she is doing better than I expected.

In other news, My sister, Jenni, is due with her baby in about 5 weeks. But if she goes like me, she only has about 3 weeks. So Jenni, this note is for you to hang in there, I know it's hot, and I know how uncomfortable you are at this point, but you have come so far and it will be totally worth it! Keep smiling it will be over soon, and you will have a sweet little baby to show for it! I love you!
My sister, Natalie comes back from Italy this next week, so please pray for her safe travel. I'm so excited to see her. Little does she know that she has already been assigned to pick me and Zoe up from the airport in a couple weeks :) Thanks Nat!
My little brother, Ben is at scout camp this week. He just created a blog. I posted the link on the right. When he gets back, I'm sure he'll post all about his adventures. (Mind you, the day they left for camp, it had been storming with lightening the whole night before, so I'm sure he'll have interesting stories)
And last but certainly not least, I didn't get a chance to post for Father's Day.
I have a very special relationship with my Dad. I have never met a person that didn't have good things to say about my Father, everyone loves him, he just radiates! My Dad has introduced me to several wonderful things in life, everything from Havarti cheese to Monty Python, from life lessons, like the Dating Game to essential Gospel principles, like Tithing and Temple Marriage. Thanks Dad for everything. You are my Hero!
I also want to mention my sweet husband, Ryan , who became a Father, just in time for this holiday. He is so gentle and kind with our daughter. I can't wait for her to grow up and recognize special bond that only Fathers and Daughters have. I love you Ryan!

We have been home from the hospital just a few days, but things are going great. Zoe generally sleeps 4-5 stretches during the night (although last night she was up much more than that) It's been so nice to be at home in our own beds with out own stuff. Zoe weighed 6 lbs 12 oz at birth and by the time we left the hospital, she weighed 7 lbs 2 oz, but almost all of her clothes are too big for her. She is a great baby overall and we are so blessed to have this sweet little piece of heaven in our lives. She loves her vibrating bouncy seat, she often sleeps there during the day. My recovery is going great, just need to loose those extra baby pounds, but my swelling is down, so I'm happy for now. Zoe will be going back to the Dr. next Wednesday for her '2 week' appt. (although it will only be 1 week from when she was released from the hospital) Our puppy Campbell has been bunking over at my in-laws for the past week and a half, and she is coming home tonight. We went over there last night to sorta introduce them, and Campbell didn't seem interested until she smelled the formula we were feeding to Zoe. We're so excited to announce that Baby Zoe gets to come home tonight! She finishes her last round of antibiotics at 10pm, and then we are free to bring her home! She'll be home almost exactly a week from when my water broke. It hardly seems like it's been a whole week. Days seem to run together when you spend them in the hospital. Thank you all so much for your sweet comment, phone calls and prayers. We're so excited to have her home and be able to share her with everyone. The blog seems the best place to update information so that's why I have the frequent posts. Yesterday the Pediatrician reduced Zoe's antibiotics, which means she is doing great! She is clear for jaundice and after her blood test results this morning, them may stop one of the antibiotics. As of now, she is scheduled to come home Wednesday. Hello all! Thank you all for your wonderful comments, phone calls and messages. I (holly) was discharged yesterday and my recovery is going great. I'm only on some Motrin for the pain, but other than that I'm doing great. However, our little Zoe, is a little sick. As I had posted previously, I tested positive for Group B strep. So during my labor, I was given antibiotics to help fight the infection, to protect Zoe. My labor was surprisingly short, so I didn't receive the full amount by the time she was born. This subjected our little girl to the infection. She now has to stay in the hospital for a week receiving antibiotics to fight her infection. Although her infection is completely curable and she isn't showing any symptoms of being sick, please pray for our little girl. She is feeding really well, and sleeps great so far. I have a room with her at the hospital, so although I am not a patient, I have a bed and can stay with her. I will try and post some more pictures that show her face better soon. Baby Zoe Humbert was born today June 4th, 2008 at 4:04 AM, with a total weight of 6 pounds and 12 ounces. She is 20 and 1/2 inches long and has a full head of dark brown hair. After a full night of no sleep and awesome pain killers Holly (yes this is Ryan Posting) was able to go from admittance to pushing in a little under 4 hours. We are both very excited to get to know our little baby and we hope you enjoy the awesome photography skills of both the nurses and I :). Take a look!

Hello all! Ryan and I went to the Dr. yesterday. I'm still at 2 cm and having contractions daily. Unfortunately, I don't think these contractions are doing much of anything, other than annoying me and giving some false hope. The contractions seem to pick up at night and when I go for a walk, so I might have to start walking more this weekend. I only have a couple days left of work, which will be a relief for my swollen legs and feet. I'm looking forward to being able to put my feet up during the day. I hope you all have a good weekend! Yesterday, Ryan and I had a wonderful day off. We went to Macaroni Grill for lunch, then walked around the shopping plaza for awhile. I started contracting around 5:30, every 6 or 7 minutes, not too bad, I was just watching them to see if they got worse. 7ish Ryan and I take Campbell for a little walk, contractions are now about 5-6 minutes apart. 8:00 contractions are 5 minutes apart, lasting 45 -60 seconds. Stays this way until 11 when we decide to go to the hospital. Once we got there, and I got hooked up to the monitors. the nurse checked me and I was at 2 cm still 50% effaced. She called the on-call Dr. and he wanted me to walk around for an hour to see if the contractions would pick up and start dialting. So my sweet husband, walked the halls of L&D with me for an hour in the middle of the night. (here's where my "Ode to my AMAZING husband" comes in. He was such a trooper, waking up in the middle of the night to come hang around L&D with me, rubbing my back while we walked and holding my hand while I was in bed being monitored. So glad I married him! He is my hero!) After walking, she checked me again, I was still a 2 but now 70% effaced. She went to go call the Dr. While we are waiting, my contractions are steady every 3 minutes and really starting to hurt. The nurse comes back and said the Dr. says you can walk for another hour to see if that changes anything, or I can give you some pain meds to help you sleep. But the meds won't stop labor. If you are truly in labor, the contractions will just get worse. I opted for the pain meds, so that Ryan and I could both get some sleep. Luckily, the medicine did help me sleep. I'm still having contractions today, but they are no where near as painful and they are not consistant. So no baby yet, but there are definitely signs that baby in on the way! My next Dr. appt is Thursday, so we shall see what Dr. Z says then. Thank you all so much for your love and support. I went to the Dr. again today. I'm positive for Group B Strep, meaning I have to have an IV of antibiotics while in labor. We started internal checks today, I'm dilated to 1cm and 50% effaced and her head is down and low. I've been having contractions on and off, but nothing exciting. As of today, we have 29 days until due date. We have another appt. next week, so I'll be updating more then. XOXO, Holly & Co.

Yesterday started out not so good. I was tired, grouchy and in general, still pregnant. (In fact, today I am still pregnant) I went to work before my Dr.'s appt. Met Ryan at my Dr.'s appt. While waiting for the Dr., I start crying to my poor husband about how tired and miserable I am. Bless his heart, he's just assures me that it will be over soon. Dr. comes in, checks the heart beat, measures my belly, then does my Strep B test. Tells me baby is good and she is head down, and come back in a week. We made all of our appointments up until my due date. (It's crunch time!) Then Ryan and I went out to lunch. Our kind waiter, gets the bar tender to make me a "frozen lemonade" although he's not too sure what that is. Ryan and I enjoy a nice lunch and conversation. My mood is improving. Then I return to work, in a little better mood. Not an hour later, I get a call that I have a delivery at the front desk. I go up there to see a beautiful bouquet of pink gerbera daisies! (I am excited, but as I check the card to see who they are from, I secretly worry that they were the flowers I ordered for a funeral for someone at work earlier that week, that I had accidentally sent to myself.) Luckily, they were from my Big Sister! Jenni and I e-mail during work days, and that morning I had sent her an e-mail venting about how miserable I was. Amen for big sisters. So then I get home (it's enrichment night, and I'm on the enrichment commitee, so I have about an hour to get home, change and eat) to find my amazing husband had run all the errands I asked him to (Bank, mail, grocery store) He's stocked the fridge, freezer, and cupboards, and even taken out the trash. Oh and he had started dinner! I thank my lucky stars he likes me enough to deal with my pregnant self. So after a bad morning, I had a great afternoon and evening. I attribute my good mood to my loving family and friends who have been so kind and understanding throughout my pregnancy, especially my husband. Thank you all, I love you. In other news: We got sent to L&D on Tuesday for irregular contractions. The nurses put me on monitors for an hour or so, and cleared me to go home, citing "irritable uterus" as the cause. I'm just praying the next time I leave that hospital, I will have a baby in tote. Our niece, Taylor, had a scare this earlier this week, being rushed to the hospital after a seizure. She is doing much better now. (thank you for the prayers) Tomorrow, Ryan and I will be attending our nephew Luke's first birthday party! (We didn't get to go to Taylor's a few weeks ago, because I can't travel, but we're excited to see their family this summer!) Look for pictures in the coming days. Yesterday was Mother's Day. I just wanted to say I love my MOM! She is truly a woman worth recognizing, and I hope she realizes that. I got to speak in church yesterday about my wonderful Mom, and yes, I cried. I love you MOM! Also, I wanted to recorgnize my sweet Mother-in-Law, Julie. I'm so happy she raised a wonderful son for me to marry. Thanks Julie! This past weekend Lara and Rachel both got married! Congratulations to you both. I'm glad you chose to get married in the Temple. We're sorry we were unable to attend, but the Dr. has me under restriction to not travel more than 45 minutes away from the hospital, just in case. I'm sure both the sealings and receptions were beautiful! I can't wait to see pictures. Ryan finished the semester last week with a 4.0 GPA! Hooray for hard-working husbands! The semester has been especially busy for him and I'm so proud of him for finishing so strong! Not only did he complete all his assignments but he worked during the week, took care of a crazy pregnant wife. (those of you who have had one, can relate I'm sure) and took care of a crazy puppy. I love you Ryan, you are a wonderful husband! This week we start once a week Dr. appointments! I've only got 5 weeks until my due date. It's amazing how fast times flies by, but at the same time it seems so slow. Baby Zoe is still moving around, although not as much, she's running out of room. I'm still getting contractions, almost daily, but they rarely last long. I will update after my Dr. appointment this Thursday. This past weekend, Ryan and I went to the Outlet Mall in Folsom. We stopped by the Harry & David store to get a present for my Mother-in-law. Caution: Do not go to that store hungry. Everything in there looking so delicious. We're lucky we got out with only a gift for her. We also went to the Baby Gap outlet. I could have spent days in there. Why is it that clothes are so cute when they are for babies? Alright, I know I still have like 7 weeks, but I had a dream last night that is inspiring this post. Last night I dreamed that I was in the Dr.'s office and he decided to induce me on the 12th. I think it was the 12th of June, but I'm not sure. I'm trusting my instincts that our little girl will be born early, as I've felt that way this whole pregnancy. I've also thought it was a girl from the moment I found out I was pregnant. My other dreams about this pregnancy were right, like when I dream it was a girl, so I'm trusting this one. Dr.'s due date is June 18th. So here's my guess. Birth Date: June 12th, dark brown wavy hair, around 7 or 8 pounds, about 21 inches long. I'm guessing she will be born in the morning. Ryan's Guess: June 26th(his birthday), around 8 pounds, about 24 inches long, born at night. I'd like to open a baby pool to all those who would like to place a guess. There will be some sort of prize, although I haven't yet decided what it will be. Either leave your guess as a comment on this post or send it to me in an e-mail. More exciting news: Our dear friend, Aly Willis is currently an intern at a photography studio here in town. She called me a few weeks ago, and told me that she needed to practice using the studio and wanted to know if I wanted some maternity pictures taken. So tomorrow, after work, I'll be heading over there to get some pictures taken. I'm excited to see how they turn out, and I'm hoping my belly will look round. (Sometimes she curls to one side and she makes my belly lopsided) So I'll post those once we get them back. The end of this week, my little sister, Natalie, will be leaving for Italy for a study abroad. Please pray for her safe arrival. I will be unable to reach her by phone for the next some odd weeks. We're still trying to figure out how to tell her she has a niece, once the baby is born. That should be interesting. While Ryan was working this week, I watched the movie, Juno. I don't know if it was just me being pregnant and the movie being about a teenage pregnancy, that hit me so hard, but I've watched it 3 times and every time I cry for the last 30+ minutes. So if you plan to watch it, bring a box of tissues. I'll be heading to the Dr. on Wednesday. Hoping that she is still head down (fear of breech baby) I've been told that as the baby gets bigger, they move less. Well that is not the case with our little kick-boxer. I feel like she's been moving constantly for the past few weeks, which is making sleep very difficult. I'm also having contractions almost daily, albeit not in ANY sort of pattern. We need to keep her in for just a few more weeks to avoid her being premature, but after that 37 week mark passes, she will be getting her eviction notice. I've been trying to get my older sister, Jenni, to start a blog, as she seems to be the only one to not hop on this fad train. She has been one to resist fads before, like pointy shoes and boy band obsessions, but this is one I feel she needs to adopt. So in efforts to have other people pester her into creating one, I'm asking for your help.
