Next up, this is a mini book I made for our trip to Apple Hill. I used Cosmo Cricket's Nutmeg line. As soon as I saw this line I knew it would be perfect for this trip. I made it in 2 days because I was so excited about seeing it finished. You can see the full thing at my two peas gallery (link on the right)

is Zoe's new favorite phrase.
You have water...me some.
You have coke...me some.
You have a cinnamon roll...me some.
You have raw eggs in a bowl...me some. ( No we didn't give her raw eggs...)
She's getting better at putting words together. Like on the drive home from Roseville this weekend, she dropped her binky and I said, " Where did your binky go?" and the rest of the trip home she said" My binky go?" over and over.
We're trying to get her to say please if she asks for something, like "Up, please" but she will say up, then after we remind her, she will say please but won't say them together.
She's also good at herding Campbell into her crate. She chases after her waving her hand saying "Go Campbell, Go!"
We've been feeling less than stellar at the Humbert house, some lingering cold/flu/headaches and Zoe's 2 teeth are taking their sweet time coming in. Lots of snuggles, sippy cups, books & blankets. Oh and Ryan made cinnamon rolls....mmm.
I've been working on some crafting but I can't show it because it's for some Christmas gifts and these people read my blog :) But I will be doing some non-Christmas crafting tonight so I'll post those soon.

I'm sure most of you have heard of "Baby legs" basically, cute leg warmers for babies. To purchase, they are anywhere from $6 -$12 a pair. Today I came across a tutorial on how to make your own, and I just had to try it. ( I got my knee socks at Target)
For all three pairs, including cutting, pinning and sewing, maybe an hour. Probably less if I wasn't entertaining Zoe while I was working. So you will most likely be seeing Zoe in lots of these from now on.
Yesterday we had a HUGE storm. It knocked down a bunch of trees near my office and took me forever to get home. But after the storm was the most beautiful sight,

I didn't edit these at all to enhance the color, it was really that bright.
We're getting closer to post 200 so stay tuned for that giveaway...lots of craftiness in the near future and I'm hoping to take some photos of Zoe with some fun vintage props.
Have a good night and enjoy some hot chocolate!

I am a scrapbooker.
Most of you that read this blog know that.
Most of you also probably don't realize how much of a scrapbooker I am.
But I am happy to say that I had my second layout published. It's curretly up on the Cosmo Cricket Facebook Fan page. link.
(Yes it's the same company that posted my first layout, what can I say, I love their stuff!)
I applied to their design team earlier this year, but didn't make the cut. I'm hoping to try again next year and make the team. To do that, I'll have to beat out thousands of very talented people, but hey, dreams can come true right?

Zoe is working on tooth #15 & #16. Nighttime is challenging to say the least.
Last night we got to have some Wii time with our friends the Stauffers. Well, Ryan and Preston got Wii time, Jamie and I got girl talk. Z & E got playtime.
I am {loving} the rain and cold weather. I need to pull my sweaters out of my "winter clothes" box.
Hopefully this weekend, I'll get around to scrapping our Apple Hill pictures. I also got an idea to turn one of my sweaters into a dress for Z so hopefully I can squeeze that in among scouts, relief society, grocery shopping and cleaning :)
XOXO,
Holly & Co.

Pardon the water spots, we had just finished brushing her teeth.
This is one of the shirts I made last night. Ryan wasn't too sure about the ruffle, but with this dress, how can anyone resist.
And that curly hair!
Ok, done gushing over how cute my kid is!
We're off to church and a very special baby blessing.
Be back later.
XOXO,
Holly & Co.

Zoe is cutting her 15th tooth, so we're being soft on letting her have her binky all the time.
Zoe is growing again, which is reducing her wardrobe significantly. I've been repurposing some of her clothes so they can stay in the dresser a little longer. (Pictures to come)

This is how we spent our night. We had family movie night and watched "The Little Mermaid" I was afraid Zoe would get scared by Ursula, but when she came on, Zoe clapped. hmmm...
We had lots of cuddles and popcorn. We even talked about this becoming a regular thing, we had so much fun!
XOXO,
Holly & Co.
Here's what Ms. Zoe has been up to recently
Zoe's 2 new words.
"Pity" meaning pretty. Anything colorful, floral, sparkling, or hair product classifies as pretty.
"Peas" meaning please. It's generally used when she wants her binky, and after she cries "Ink, Ink"
She is learning to jump. although she only has the stance down. She tries to jump but her feet don't lift off the ground. She still claps for herself though. A for effort.
Zoe loves putting on lotion and soap. In the tub, we give her a squirt of soap and she'll wash her tummy. And whenever she sees the lotion bottle she wants to put some on. She occasionally gets the 2 confused and will put lotion in her hair.
She loves to give Campbell treats and says "Good girl".
She knows the animal noises for "Dog, Cat, Cow, Bird, Monkey, Lion, Tiger, Bear". The Cat is her favorite.
(Morgan's & Baker's will appreciate this) Zoe reads "Caps for Sale" to herself and everytime she sees the pages with the monkeys on them, she says "No, No"
She loves to sing "Popcorn Popping" and will do the hand actions.
She still snuggles on occassion.
She still has baby chub.
She still loves Mickey Mouse's Clubhouse, Goofy is her favorite.
Her hair is more blond than brown.
Her giggle is infecious and we love it.
We're getting over some sickness in our house, so that's why the lack of blogging.
Also, we're at around 185 posts, so on post 200, we're going to have a GIVEAWAY. So stay tuned.

Thursday, Ryan's cousin Melissa cut my hair. It was long over due for a cut. It's now nice and short. (pictures will be coming soon.)
Also, our good friends the Weights, welcomed their first baby late last night and we couldn't be happier for them! We can't wait to meet their little girl.
With our recent change to Netflix from cable, I've had a chance to watch some movies that I didn't want to pay to see. I watched this movie this week:

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

This week has been quite busy in the Humbert household. Meetings, birthday parties, crafting, and new teeth.
For my un-birthday, I got to order a bunch of scrapbook supplies. Yeah, most of that stack is pretty paper. I won't need to go shopping for quite awhile.
I'm normally not into Halloween at all but this year I have really wanted to decorate. Pumpkins, spider webs, the works. I made this decoupage canvas for the mantle.
This week, Zoe's BFF Ethan celebrated his second birthday! Zoe brought him balloons on Wednesday for his real birthday and then we went to his swimming party today. Here's a card I made for him.
Zoe has been the recipient of a new canine this morning. Total # of teeth :14.
I've been trying to figure out what I did to my wrist. It's been sore for the past week, but has really started hurting the past couple days. It's now kinda swollen, so I've been icing it and wrapping it. So if you see me with my wrist wrapped up, I'm ok.
This week, we have more meetings, some errands and more birthdays to celebrate. (Natalie and hopefully baby Lilly) I'm praying for the weather to finally change...sweaters here I come.

We came home with lots of apples, apple donuts, apple pumpkin butter and apple juice. We love Apples!
I'll leave you with this cute photo of Zoe watching the horses.

that title is supposed to resemble the count from Sesame Street.
Zoe is on her 13th tooth, a canine. All 4 were starting to come in, but one finally poked through.
this girl is going to be loosing teeth by her second birthday at this rate!
this weekend we are going to attempt to go to apple hill. if you remember, last year's venture did NOT go as planned. see this post.
We are going to celebrate my un-birthday.
Background: Birthdays are a big deal in my family. growing up, we get orange rolls in bed with presents all around, family dinner of our choice on the red "you're special" plate, sometime even a party.
For the past 3 years, on my birthday I have been traveling. Sometimes stuck in a hotel in Pennsylvania, sometimes on delayed flights, etc. And while they were all still nice birthdays, this year I wanted to not have to be in an airport. So I decided we're celebrating in September, which is a relatively uneventful month for us.
And yes, this year we don't have plans to travel on/around my birthday....I'm not taking any chances :)
No need to adjust your date books or calendars. This is a one time adjustment and we will return to regularly scheduled birthdays for Holly in 2010.

So after a drastic cut in May, I'm back to my in between hair length. I can't make it grow any faster, so I'll probably end up cutting it.
I'm really liking the tousled bob look, like this.
Anyone have any thoughts? Like or dislike?
please help!

When all is peaceful. No meltdowns, no freakouts, no awful barking, no meetings to go to or homework to do.
Ryan is making his fabulous chicken tacos and guacamole, and I am blogging :) It doesn't get much better than this.
*edited to add: I am now eating said tacos and guacamole, and it's heaven.
I've been getting back into my crafting groove. I made this hair flower last night.

I went to Michael's today and got some 12x12 frames so I can display some of my scrapbook pages. What I really need an another scrapbook. I have enough pages down to fill 1 or 2 more. Right now the pages are just sitting in a pile...should probably invest in a home for them.
Well off to enjoy my peaceful evening!
XOXO,
Holly & Co.

Today, Zoe and I took a trip to Goodwill today. We found just what we were looking for, and some books for Zoe. Then we stopped into the quilt shop and got some fat quarters for various projects. Some ruffle shirts and hair flowers.
I found the best blog for project ideas. mymamamadeit.blogspot.com. She has some great tutorials. I love how she does little projects for toddlers. I'm hoping to make some cute clothes for Zoe soon.
XOXO,
Holly & Co.

This evening when Z & I got home, she wanted to play with my scrapbooking stuff. She reached for the rotary cutter, but we settled on the jar of flowers instead :)
She had fun spilling them all over the floor and then decided to lay in them. I snapped a picture, it was too cute to pass up.
Last night I took on a project to turn an old dress into a button down shirt. It actually turned out and I wore it today! I should have taken pictures, but I didn't.
I'm in the process of changing my e-mail address to a more grown up one. It's changing to holly.humbert@gmail.com. Update your address books. I'll be forwarding from the brwneyes account until I get all my online stuff changed over (so like 2 or 3 weeks).
This weekend we are having a RS pancakes and pjs activity. Pancakes always remind me of my best friend in high school who worked at IHOP for a short time and always smelled like syrup. :)
MY new fall show addiction is GLEE. It totally makes me wish I could sing and dance. Zoe likes the dance numbers, she wiggles from side to side while they dance. We've been watching the pilot episode all summer on Hulu. Just love the awkwardness, it's heartwarming.
XOXO,
Holly & Co.
Today, I locked my keys in my car, for the first time since owning my car. and to my rescue, came Ryan. He was able to use a piece of wire to pry open the lock before AAA got here. HOORAY for handy husbands!
Zoe turned 15 months last week. It's amazing how fast time flies. Her newest words are "hot" "water" "yucky". She's also learned to walk backwards. It's rather funny to watch. She has a liking for sour fruit. She will eat lime and lemon wedges when we're at restaurants. Here she is eating a lime.
I'm trying to fit in some crafty projects. We'll see if it actually happens.

Zoe has been carrying around my purse lately. I love the way she holds her arm up so that the purse won't slide off. These are some pictures we took on Friday waiting for Daddy to get home.

Last night Zoe spent the night at Grandma & Granpa Humbert's house so Ryan and I got a date night!
We went to Macaroni Grill and discovered they had re-done the whole menu. Simplified, added, and changed the whole thing. It was great. The menu also now includes a nutritional information panel, so you can see exactly how many calories, sat. fat etc. you are getting. (EYE-OPENER!) I was shocked that one of my favorite dishes was almost 500 calories more than the Fetticini Alfredo! But it helped me make a positive decision. I got the Pollo Caprese, so Yummy! However out food was extrememly late coming out, so they comped us a dessert, which threw the whole calorie count out the window. (but is was divine)
Then we headed over to Fry's Electronics to walk around and ooh and ahh over expensive gadgets we don't need. We ended up buying printer ink which we needed.
It was an early night, but nice to get some one on one time with the Hubby.
Zoe is feeling much better. While home sick, she learned what the cow says, "Mooo" (said in the most adorable little Zoe voice)
Our dear friends/neighbors welcomed their second baby boy on Wednesday afternoon. Little Noah is as perfect as they come. Mom & Baby are both healthy and well. We're excited to have a brand new baby right next door. You can see pictures on their blog.
We'll be having a PJs & Pancakes breakfast next saturday for our ward Relief Society. I am thinking I need to get some cute jammies for this event. Don't wanna show up in Ryan's giant BYU sweatshirt and yoga pants, which is what I normally wear. Poor Jamie can attest to that. I wonder if Target has some cute ones.
Last weekend I got the urge to re-do Zoe's room. I took down all her alphabet canvases and bedding. I want to redo it in the color scheme/fabric from the quilt the Julie made her. Kind of a 70's mod feel. But then I got tired. So her room is less than cute right now but I'm hoping to make some changes during the long weekend.
Ok enough rambling for now. Have a great weekend everyone.

With a double ear infection!
Yep, Zoe has more ear infections. It's only happened right after we've been traveling, so I think from now on, we'll watch her much more closely after we go anywhere exotic. (ie. UT, etc)
For now we're just laying low drinking lots of fluids, cuddling and watching Mickey.
We're hoping to take her to Disney on Ice in October. Anyone else going?

We attended their reception that evening, it was beautiful. It was at the same venue as our own, fun to take a trip down memory lane.
Saturday was our Ward BBQ. Turned out over 100 people showed up. It was hot and there was a few bumps but overall we had a good time. Ryan and Zoe came a little late due to naps. Zoe gobbled up her hot dog. Who knew she loved hot dogs?
Ryan starts school tomorrow. He'll be taking 4 classes this semester, he will be quite busy!
My creative juices are still absent so I apologize for the lacking of blogging (blogging is included in the creative juices part)
I'll try to be better about posting this week, but no promises.
